प्रेमी यीशु दयालु प्रभु

बादल भयानक अन्धकार ला रहे

Badal bhayanak andhkar la rahe

Clouds are bringing terrible darkness;

लहरें अब जोर से मार रहीं हैं

Lahren ab zor se mar rahin hain

the waves are now striking hard;

सागर के ऊपर मैं चलने के लिये

Sagar ke upar main chalne ke liye

so that I may walk on the sea,

सामर्थी हाथ मेरे लिये बढ़ा।

Samarthi hath mere liye badha.

stretch out your powerful hand for me.

दुष्ट शैतान सदा सिंह की नाई

Dusht Shaitan sada sinh ki nai

The wicked Satan, always like a lion,

सन्तों को फाड़ खाने को खोजता है

Santon ko phad khane ko khojta hai

seeks to tear the saints apart and devour them;

विश्वास का त्याग हो रहा है जब

Vishwas ka tyag ho raha hai jab

while faith is being abandoned

विश्वासयोग्य लोग घटते जाते।

Vishwasyogya log ghatte jate.

and faithful people grow fewer.

Gire bina hum jangal mein daudne ko

To run through the wilderness without falling,

असीम सामर्थ से भर दे हमको

Asim samarth se bhar de hamko

fill us with boundless strength,

तंगी, मुसीबत, दुःख और निन्दा को

Tangi, musibat, dukh aur ninda ko

so that we may bear hardship, trouble, sorrow and reproach

तेरे लिये हर्ष से सहने को।

Tere liye harsh se sahne ko.

gladly for you.

विश्वास को सम्भालकर दौड़ पूरी करने को

Vishwas ko sambhalkar daud puri karne ko

To hold on to faith and finish the race,

विशेष अनुग्रह हर वक्त दे

Vishesh anugrah har vakt de

give special grace at all times;

तेरी मर्जी सदा पूरी करके मैं

Teri marzi sada puri karke main

that I may always fulfil your will

तेरी सिद्धता पाने के लिये।

Teri siddhata pane ke liye.

and gain your perfection.

Mukut mera main kho na dene ko

So that I do not lose my crown,

अच्छी तरह लड़ने को कृपा दे

Achchhi tarah ladne ko kripa de

give grace to fight well;

जयवन्तों का सिंहासन पाने को

Jayvanton ka sinhasan pane ko

to receive the throne of the victorious,

मैं भी योग्य बन जाने के लिये।

Main bhi yogya ban jane ke liye.

that I too may become worthy.
