फ़जल है तुम्हे आज तक

तुम्हारी राह में आये सब दुखों से

Tumhari rah mein aye sab dukhon se

From all the sorrows that came on your path,

तुम को नाश होने से मैंने रोका

Tum ko nash hone se maine roka

I kept you from being destroyed;

मैंने अपने हाथ की ताकत से कायम किया

Maine apne hath ki takat se kayam kiya

I established you by the strength of my hand;

मेरे प्रेम से तू आज भी कायम है।

Mere prem se tu aj bhi kayam hai.

by my love you still stand firm today.

अज़माइश में तुम अफसोस में थे तब

Azmaish mein tum afsos mein the tab

When you were in testing and in sorrow,

मेरा हाथ था तुम्हारे साथ उस वक्त

Mera hath tha tumhare sath us vakt

my hand was with you at that time;

मेरी रौशनी तुम्हारी राह में चमकी थी

Meri raushani tumhari rah mein chamki thi

my light shone on your path;

जीत के गीत गाने को ऐसा किया।

Jit ke git gane ko aisa kiya.

I did this so that you could sing songs of victory.

तनहाई में तुम्हारे रोते वक्त

Tanhai mein tumhare rote vakt

In loneliness, when you were weeping,

मैं तुम्हारे पास आ कर उस वक्त

Main tumhare pas a kar us vakt

I came to you at that time;

तुम्हारी जरूरत जो थी मैंने पूरी की

Tumhari zarurat jo thi maine puri ki

I met the needs you had;

सदा के लिये अपना कर लिया।

Sada ke liye apna kar liya.

I made you my own forever.

फ़तहमन्दी की राह में ले जाने को

Fathmandi ki rah mein le jane ko

To lead you on the path of victory,

मैंने पकड़ा तुम्हारा हाथ जोर से

Maine pakda tumhara hath zor se

I held your hand firmly;

फ़तह के गीत गाने के लिये यह किया है

Fath ke git gane ke liye yah kiya hai

I have done this so that you may sing songs of victory;

खिदमत करने को भी फ़जल दिया।

Khidmat karne ko bhi fazal diya.

I also gave grace to serve.

इस दुनिया से तुमको अलग किया

Is duniya se tumko alag kiya

Apna pyara beta sada tum ko main rakhunga

I will keep you always as my beloved son;

तब तुम्हारा बाप सदा रहूंगा।

Tab tumhara bap sada rahunga.

then I will be your Father forever.
